Want Healthy, Beautiful Skin? 5 Skin Care Practices you must follow

Let’s be honest, not all of us are blessed with flawless, glowing skin. Some of us are perpetually plagued with pimple problems; some of us have excessively dry skin and some of us dislike the spots and marks that dot our face. However, have we stopped to wonder whether our skin is naturally this flawed or is it something we’re doing that is effecting our skin negatively. If we ponder over this for a bit, we’ll realize that nature hasn’t really been mean to us. Unhealthy skin is a result of our own negligence and improper lifestyle choices. This means that with a bit of modification and care, we reverse the damage and enjoy healthy, glowing skin. Here are a couple of skin care practices you must follow to achieve this:

•Don’t expect your skin to look after itself. Set a proper skin care regime in place to clean, moisturize and nourish your skin. Here is an article that chalks out an easy skin care routine that will do wonders for your skin without eating up too much time. Follow it and notice a difference in the quality of your skin. •To look healthy on the outside, you need to be healthy on the inside too. So, consuming the right foodstuffs is extremely important. Consume a lot of vegetables, especially ones with high water content, like lettuce, carrot, cucumber and radish. Munching on nuts too will be beneficial for your skin.

•Consuming a cup of green tea daily too is a good practice for your skin. Green tea is high in antioxidants and this can help cure acne problems. It also increases your metabolic rate and aids digestion. Both these factors contribute towards giving your skin a fresh, healthy glow.

•The phrase ‘beauty sleep’ has been coined for a reason. Proper rest can actually make you look beautiful. When you sleep, your body gets time off to repair and rejuvenate damaged, tired cells. Hence, the more sleep you get, the better for your skin. Try to get at least 7 hours of undisturbed sleep.

•Stress can really mess with your skin. So, meditate, exercise or practice yoga for a while daily. This will help you stay fit and look young. It’ll also delay the onset of wrinkles, lines and other age-related problems.

Apart from this, pay close attention to the products you use on your skin. Chemical-filled, artificial products dry up and damage your skin. Hence, it’s better to opt for organic skin care products as they are extremely safe. The Body Shop offers a range of organic skin care products that are made from natural ingredients and extracts. Well, this is it from my end. Although these might seem like simple suggestions, practicing them religiously will make a great difference to your skin. So, follow these pointers and enjoy beautiful, healthy skin!
